Lisa maintains a busy trial and appellate practice, focused on criminal and constitutional litigation. Lisa regularly appears in all levels of court in Ontario, as well as the Supreme Court of Canada and administrative tribunals. Lisa has experience defending professionals facing disciplinary proceedings, including allegations of sexual or financial misconduct.
Lisa is a director of the Criminal Lawyers’ Association, and serves on several board subcommittees. Lisa volunteers her time with pro bono litigation and education projects, and is committed to ensuring access to justice for all. Lisa is a regular commentator on criminal justice issues in local and national media.
Prior to joining the firm, Lisa was a partner at another leading criminal defence firm, and a litigation associate on Bay Street. Lisa started her legal career as a student at the Crown Law Office – Criminal, and as a clerk for the justices of the Court of Appeal for Ontario
Lisa is a graduate of the University of British Columbia’s Allard School of Law. She graduated as a Wesbrook Scholar – UBC’s highest accolade. She was the recipient of several awards, including the HSBC Emerging Leader Scholarship and the Boyd Ferris Memorial Prize in Advocacy. Lisa is a former top oralist and winner of the national Gale Cup Moot, as well as a competitor at the World Universities Debating Championships. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) from Queen’s University.
Lisa is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Advocates Society, the Ontario Bar Association, the Criminal Lawyers’ Association, and the Toronto Lawyers Association.
